Short answer

Quick Entry is the command line in Ninja Terminal's order form. You type a symbol, an optional side, a dollar amount, and an optional market, for example btc l 100k, then press Enter. The grammar is SYMBOL [L|S] AMOUNT [SPOT|PERP]. A live preview shows the route before the order goes out.

Most terminals ask you to pick an exchange, open a ticket, choose a side, type a size, and confirm. Quick Entry collapses that into one line of text. It lives at the top of the order form, and it is built for traders who already know what they want to buy or sell.

What is the Quick Entry grammar?

The whole grammar is SYMBOL [L|S] AMOUNT [SPOT|PERP].

Part Accepted input Default
Symbol First word. Ticker or common name, such as btc or bitcoin Required
Side l or long, s or short Long
Amount A number in USD, optional decimals, optional k or m Required
Market spot, or perp, perpetual, futures Perpetual

The symbol must come first. After it, the side, the amount, and the market can appear in any order. The input is converted to uppercase as you type.

Which commands does Quick Entry accept?

These examples follow the parser rules and its test cases.

Command What it does
btc 100k Long $100,000 of BTC on a perpetual
btc l 100k Same order with the side written out
btc 100k long Same order with the side after the amount
eth s 50k Short $50,000 of ETH on a perpetual
bonk 20k s Short $20,000 of BONK, side after the amount
sol 2.5k Long $2,500 of SOL, decimals allowed
eth 1m Long $1,000,000 of ETH, m means million
btc spot 100k Buy $100,000 of BTC on the spot market
btc 100k s spot Spot order with a short side keyword

A few inputs are rejected on purpose:

  • 100k btc fails with “Symbol required before amount”.
  • bonk s 20k l fails because a second side keyword would silently override the first.
  • bonk 20k sh fails with an unexpected token message.

If you type only btc, the preview waits and prompts you to add an amount.

How does the symbol match work?

As you type, Quick Entry matches the symbol against the markets of your connected exchanges. It matches on exact ticker first, then prefix, then partial matches. A short list of common names resolves to tickers, so bitcoin finds BTC and solana finds SOL. Favorites and recently used markets rank higher, and perpetuals rank higher unless you typed spot.

Press Tab to replace what you typed with the best match and keep going. The chart switches to the matched market as soon as a match exists, so you see what you are about to trade.

What does the live preview show?

Before you press Enter, the route preview shows the venue, the size, the quantity, the mark price, the margin the order would use, the free balance after it, and the effect on any position you already hold. If a venue cannot take the order, the preview lists it with the reason. Smart routing explains how accounts are chosen and split.

The preview is not decoration. Enter is blocked, with a message, when the symbol does not match, the amount is missing, or there is no live price yet.

Can I attach take profit and stop loss?

Yes. Auto TP/SL is a standing setting. When it is on, Quick Entry entries get take profit and stop loss orders attached at percentages you choose, using mark price or last price as the trigger. For one order only, the TP/SL control next to the input lets you set specific percentages or prices that override the standing setting. Exchange behavior differs, so read the TP/SL guide.

How are the orders sent?

Quick Entry opening orders are limit orders at a protected price, set within a tolerance of the mark price. The tolerance is 3% by default, with 5% as the other option in Trading settings. Any unfilled part rests on the book at that price. A single Quick Entry order is capped at $5 million notional.

Quick Entry works in open mode. To close or reduce a position, use the inline controls described in positions and orders.

Quick Entry is part of Ninja Terminal and included with Ninja Squad membership at Pro tier or higher. Every order executes on your own exchange account. This page is product documentation, not investment advice.
