Crypto Charts with Indicators, Drawings, and Click-to-Trade
Updated Ninja Terminal team
Short answer
Ninja Terminal's chart supports candlestick, hollow candle, and Heikin-Ashi styles, eight timeframes from 1 minute to 1 week, six indicators with repeatable instances, and 14 drawing tools. You can right-click the chart to place an order at a price, and your live orders, positions, and TP/SL levels are drawn on it.
A trading chart earns its place when it shortens the distance between seeing a level and acting on it. The Ninja Terminal chart is built on that idea. It shows price, your own orders and positions, and the tools to mark levels, and it lets you place or move an order without leaving the canvas.
What chart types and timeframes are available?
The chart draws candles from the market you have selected. In Appearance settings you can switch the chart style between candlesticks, hollow candles, and Heikin-Ashi. You can also change the up and down colors, the timezone, and whether time shows in 24-hour format.
The timeframe selector offers 1m, 5m, 15m, 30m, 1H, 4H, 1D, and 1W. On mobile, a shorter set of 15m, 1H, 4H, and 1D keeps the controls usable on a small screen.
Which indicators can I add?
| Indicator | Notes |
|---|---|
| EMA | Adjustable period |
| SMA | Adjustable period |
| VWAP | Volume-weighted average price line |
| Bollinger Bands | Period and standard deviation, with basis, upper, and lower lines |
| RSI | Adjustable period, in its own pane |
| MACD | Fast, slow, and signal periods, with histogram |
Indicators are instances. You can add an EMA twice, with periods of 9 and 21, and give each its own color and line width. Oscillators such as RSI and MACD draw in separate panes under the price. Your indicator set follows you across symbols, so you do not rebuild it each time you change market. A search dialog finds indicators by name, and a legend on the chart lets you hide, edit, or remove each one.
What drawing tools does the chart have?
There are 14 tools, grouped on a left toolbar. Most have Alt-key shortcuts, written as Option on Mac.
| Group | Tools | Shortcut |
|---|---|---|
| Lines | Trend line, ray, extended line | Alt+T for trend line |
| Lines | Horizontal line, horizontal ray | Alt+H for horizontal line |
| Lines | Vertical line, cross line | Alt+V, Alt+X |
| Fibonacci | Fib retracement | Alt+F |
| Shapes and text | Rectangle, price range, text | Alt+R, Alt+E for text |
| Measure and positions | Ruler | Alt+M |
| Measure and positions | Long position, short position | Alt+L, Alt+S |
Esc steps back through a drawing in progress and returns you to the cursor. A floating toolbar and a settings popover let you restyle a selected drawing. The shortcuts match the physical key, so they also work on Mac layouts where Option changes the typed character.
How does click-to-trade work?
Right-click any price on the chart. The menu offers orders anchored to that price:
- Buy limit and sell limit at the clicked price.
- Buy stop and sell stop, with labels that tell you whether the level is a breakout or a breakdown.
- Take profit and stop loss for an open position, shown only on the profitable or losing side of the entry. Hedge-mode accounts get one item per side.
Which items appear depends on what the selected exchange supports. Choosing one opens a confirmation popover where you set the size, so a stray click does not send an order. Market orders are not in this menu, because they ignore the price you clicked. For those, use Quick Entry.
What is drawn on the chart besides price?
Your own trading state appears as lines and markers:
- Open orders as price lines, which you can drag to a new price to modify them.
- Your position entry, with take profit and stop loss lines. You can drag from the position line to create a new TP or SL.
- Execution markers where your orders filled.
- An optional news marker layer, toggled from the chart toolbar. See the news feed.
Dragging an order line waits for the exchange to report the change before the line settles. The chart does not show a modified order as final until the exchange confirms it. See positions and orders for the same orders in table form, and the TP/SL guide for how each exchange handles exits.
Where does the chart sit in the workspace?
The chart is one panel in a layout. In the Wide Chart and Minimal layouts it takes most of the screen. See workspace layouts. Indicators and drawings are analysis tools, not signals, and nothing on this page is investment advice.
